About this project

Move&Meet is an app designed to help people relocating abroad navigate the practical and social challenges of moving from visa appointments and legal processes to finding community in a new city. Built as a capstone project at CAD Brussels as part of the UX/UI & Digital Design Master's program.

The problem was clear: people moving abroad face a fragmented, stressful experience — no centralized tool, scattered resources, and no real support system. Move&Meet tackles this by combining practical task management with community-building features, personalized to each user's relocation context.

Understanding the landscape:

We identified 7 core challenges people face when relocating: budget, job search, legal processes, language, education, healthcare, and support networks. Existing apps like MoveAdvisor, Updater, and MoveHub each address only parts of this — leaving a significant gap for a comprehensive, personalized solution.

The initiation phase of the Move&Meet project involved meticulous research, where our team delved into the multifaceted world of relocation. Through extensive interviews, surveys, and a thorough analysis of existing services, we sought to comprehend the intricate challenges and unmet needs faced by those venturing into the unfamiliar terrain of living abroad.

Crafting solutions with precision

Armed with insights, the project pivoted to defining and prioritizing core problems. This phase was crucial in crystallizing our mission and setting the stage for innovative solutions. By prioritizing challenges based on their impact and feasibility, Move&Meet was poised to deliver meaningful interventions, ensuring that our efforts were meticulously directed toward the most crucial aspects of the relocation journey.

Design decisions & outcomes

The final product addresses each identified challenge through distinct app sections — a personalized checklist, community forums, event discovery, and a resource directory. The business model is freemium, with premium features and partnerships as revenue streams.

What's next

Next steps include expanding to all major European cities, building partnerships with relocation agencies and educational institutions, and positioning Move&Meet as a tool for local authorities managing immigrant integration.
